So Scary!!

So on friday the 26th of this month was the worst night with Gracie Kay!! She woke up only sleeping for about an hour and was screaming her head off yelling that her tummy hurt and that she was scared. Which of course made me freak out and on top of it all I couldn't get her to calm down which made her asthma get bad. So both Chris and I couldn't get her to calm down and finally took her to our bed and laid her down next to me and after a little while she fell back to sleep only I didn't! She was breathing way to fast for my liking and I just had to keep a real close eye on her all night. In my head I just kept thinking "should we get up and make a trip to the emergency". Finally morning came and Chris left to take the car in to get the windows tinted and I watched Gracie closely and called Chris and made a decision... We were going to the hospital and that I was going to pick him up! We got the hospital around 8:30 am and checked Gracie in at the desk, by 8:40am we were back talking to the Doctor. The Dr. gave Gracie some asthma meds to help her breathing and Chris went in with her to get a x-ray of her chest. Chris' parents came as soon as they heard and I called my dad to let him know where we at and what was going on. The x-ray came back and told us that Gracie had pneumonia in both lungs!!!
Poor little Gracie! The Doctor gave us some meds for the pneumonia and then told us to up her asthma meds to every 4 to 6 hours and as needed and then some Tylenol with Codeine to help with the pain of coughing and to help her sleep at night. This means great fun for mommy and daddy! Oh and by the way it was daddy's birthday, what a way to celebrate!
If you didn't already know going to the ER isn't our favorite by far! Gracie has been there at least 4 times since she was 1 year old. We found out that she has bad asthma when she was one and it has put her in the hospital with many night stays twice now. The first time was the worst she had to be transported to the Portland hospital and put in Pedia ICU for a few days!!
Well today is the 30th and Gracie is almost back to her old self!! Yipee!
