New Christmas Tradition!

Now that Gracie is two years old Chris and I decided that it is now time to introduce her to what my Scandinavian background does for Christmas. It's called The story of St. Lucia. the short version is the the oldest child in the family wakes up before everyone and wears a white robe or dress with a crown of candles and wakes up the rest of the family with muffins or pastries to start the celebration!

We haven't ever done this before in my family when I was young, but we thought as our own little family we needed to have traditions of our own and we really like this one! Who knows if Gracie will actually do it this year. But it was fun to dress her up and take pictures to send to family members in Finland.

Don't you just love Christmas? It's my favorite time of the year! What better way to end the year than to celebrate our Father's birth! And to have traditions to go along with celebrating make such great memories to remember and look forward to every year. Some of the traditions that my family always did ever year will stay with me forever and I can remember them like they were yesterday! We always had a little Danish breakfast Christmas morning with a pastry called Kringle and some coffee. And every year we make Santa Cookies all decorated so perfectly. We still try to do these when we all get together as a family.

I want to encourge you to have tradition during this time of year if not any other time. You will love it just as much as I do I know it! Have fun this Christmas and remember your Blessings and do what you can to Bless others for that is the real Christmas Spirit. And remember why we celebrate Christmas and be true to that always! God Bless and Merry Christmas!
